New Starjumps nursery for Furzefield Centre, Potters Bar

Hertsmere Leisure is pleased to announce that they are opening their second Starjumps nursery to be located at the Furzefield Centre, Potters Bar. This follows the success of our first Nursery in Borehamwood which opened in September 2008. It received a ‘Good’ grading from Ofsted and has exceeded expectations with regard to number of children being enrolled.

Starjumps in Potters Bar will open early 2010 and offer care 50 weeks of the year Monday to Friday from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm for 40 children from 3 months to 5 years of age with full and part time places.

About the nursery

At Starjumps we aim to:

• Provide a happy, safe and nurturing environment available for all children, individually tailored to meet their needs.
• Work in partnership with parents/carers.
• Provide affordable, high quality care and education.
• Ensure staffing levels are always high.

Uniquely situated within a leisure centre there will be access to ample parking, as well as additional services and opportunities for families such as swimming facilities, soft play area and other health and leisure pursuits. The leisure centre is adjacent to open parkland providing opportunities for the children from the nursery to have.

Nursery staff

The caring, approachable, and friendly staff have been carefully selected for their qualifications, experience and skills. Staff regularly attend training programmes to extend their knowledge and develop their skills.

Staff members called Key Workers are each responsible for a small group of children. Your Key Worker will be introduced to you at the earliest opportunity to ensure you and your child feel welcomed and keep you informed of his/her achievements, progress and development.

Each member of staff has undergone an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check and an induction programme informing them of the nursery’s policies.

Meals

Our menu consists of fresh, nutritious and balanced meals. We provide breakfast, a hot lunch and afternoon tea. There is an additional charge for meals. See Nursery Fees.
