Latest updates

  • Ripon Park Closure

It is with regret that Hertsmere Leisure has taken the decision to close Ripon Park Pre-School as of the 17th July 2017.

Over the past 12 months the Pre-School has been supported through various activities to boost occupancy rates. Despite the team’s hard work and dedication to turning things around, Ripon Park Pre-School has continued to trade at a significant loss, and pre-school places have not been taken up at the level anticipated. It is therefore unsustainable for the Charitable Trust to continue to operate.

We acknowledge the disappointment and the impact that this will have on the local community, and would like to assure parents that the local Children’s Centre will endeavour to help families to find suitable childcare alternatives.

  • Tax Free Childcare Scheme

The Tax Free Childcare Scheme is a new tax free initiative for parents. For every £8 a parent pays into their childcare account, the government will pay in an extra £2. Parents can get up to £2000 government support per child per year towards their childcare costs. They can then use this money to pay their childcare provider towards their childcare costs. They can then use this money to pay their childcare provider

Pre-School staff

The caring, approachable, and friendly staff have been carefully selected for their qualifications, experience and skills. Staff regularly attend training programmes to extend their knowledge and develop their skills.

Staff members called Key Persons are each responsible for a small group of children. Your Key Person will be introduced to you at the earliest opportunity to ensure you and your child feel welcomed and keep you informed of his/her achievements, progress and development.

Each member of staff has undergone an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (DBS) check and an induction programme informing them of the nursery’s policies.
