The NEW Hertfordshire Family Centre Service
From October 2018, you will start to see changes to support for children, young people and their families from pre-birth through to when a child reaches 19. The new Hertfordshire Family Centre Service will bring children’s centres, health visiting and school nursing to work together to provide a more joined up service.
We are very excited about the new service and wanted to let all our families know what is happening. Please click below to find out more information on the service.
Hertfordshire Healthy Children’s Centres Programme 2015-2018
Hertsmere Leisure is delighted to have been awarded Healthy Children’s Centre status. There are 8 identified health priorities where Children’s Centres can positively affect outcomes for families. Each area is identified in our Health Information section of this website and more links will be added when available. The Children’s Centres have invested in a large number of resources and leaflets which will be available at sessions covering all of the areas.
- Free childcare for your two year old
Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) have been working together to increase the take up of free early education for two year olds. One of the aims of the group was to have a new visual identity for the two year old scheme. The overwhelming choice was for a dinosaur, known as “Spike” within the team.
Could you be entitled to get free early education and childcare for you 3 and 4 year old?
Did you know that:
All 3 and 4 year olds can get 15 hours free early education (570 hours per year). This can be used with a school, childminder, day nursery, pre-school. In some cases, 3 and 4 year olds can get an extra 15 hours childcare (570 hours a year). This will depend on your circumstances.
